Anesthesia-Free Doggie Dental Care

We brush our teeth a few times a day, but do we brush our dog’s teeth daily? It is important to have your dog’s teeth cleaned, but that is one procedure many dog parents delay or overlook. Even if we do, tartar and plaque can build up causing many health problems, including bad breath and stained teeth. While these symptoms are clearly unappealing, many pet owners aren’t aware that these may be symptoms of serious gum disease leading to potentially serious health problems.
On Wednesday, May 28th from 1pm – 5pm, SpawZ will host an anesthesia-free dental clinic. Under the direction of a veterinarian, dental technicians use a procedure to clean canine teeth anesthesia-free. This procedure, which has been around for over 20 years, includes an oral exam, teeth scaling, cleaning and polishing…all without anesthesia!!.
A brief Q&A, which may answer some of your questions, is listed below.

1. What if my dog is scared and won’t allow the procedure? The technicians will immediately stop.
2. How long does it take? It varies, but approximately 30 minutes.
3. How much does it cost? The initial cleaning is $170. SpawZ is also giving out a $25 coupon to be used towards future SpawZ services. If you are not available during the afternoon of May 28th, use your $25 coupon for daycare. You can drop off your dog for a day of daycare …pick him up and he will be tired from a fun day, with very clean teeth!
4. Are clients happy with the results? Yes. Two of our regular clients have had this procedure performed and have been pleased with the results.
5. My dog has horrible teeth and gums and may need some teeth extracted. Is this the right procedure for him? Probably not. If during the oral exam it appears that your dog needs more extensive dental care than what can be safely provided, the procedure will stop and you will be referred to your regular vet. You will not be charged.
6. How do I sign up? Give us a call at 206-525-5953 and we will schedule an appointment. There will be a $25 non-refundable deposit at the time you sign up. This will be applied to your bill. And, don’t forget…..YOU GET A $25 coupon to be used toward the purchase of future SpawZ services.
